How To Do Cable DIY With End-Pass-Through Modular Plug

How To Do Cable DIY With End-Pass-Through Modular Plug

Here comes the teaching blog about how to do cable DIY with end-pass-through modular plug!

You can read this blog and also watch the video we've uploaded to LINKOMM Youtube channel

Let's check it out how easy this DIY process it is!

First of all, you need to know how to install 8P8C Rj45 plug, keystone jack, or patch panel so that ethernet cables can work properly.

There are two code schemes while wiring the ethernet network, T568A and T568B.

You may look closely, then you find out the distinctions between the two in the assignment of the pins on the termination part.

It doesn't matter whether the cable grade be Cat.5e, Cat.6, Cat.6A or Cat.8, most of people install the ethernet cable with code scheme T568B.

Make sure your cables are following T568B code scheme so that they can work properly whether on patch panel, keystone jack, swithch,etc..

When it comes to T568B, you should know the color assignment of the cores:

'' Orange/,  Orange,  Green/,  Blue,  Blue/,  Green,  Brown/,  Brown ''
(/=color with white stripes)

T568B

Even though the cable colors of different company or factory have a little difference,

but the code scheme T568B is the same way to wire installation.

Let's talk about what things that we need to prepare.

Materials:  End-pass-through modular plug(Cat.5e/Cat.6/Cat.6A),  strain relief/boot(it's okay without this thing),  ethernet cable

Tools:  End-pass-through modular plug crimping tool(for any category of end-pass-through plugs),  wire flush cutter plier,  network cable adjustable blade stripping tool

Then, we can start to strip the cable!

Adjust cutter blade for cutting depth in case the ethernet cable couldn't transmis because the blade may hurt the core.

Strip the cable about 2~3 CM in case you have do it over again when crimping process aren't successful.

After stripping the jacket of cable, you can see the cross separator and 4 pairs of cores.

Cut the cross separator then arrange the cores with T568B code scheme and flush cut the wires.

Neatly cut the wires can help you make wires into a end-pass-through modular plug.

Remember push the wires to the end of plug, this helps the cable transmission in a great quality.

Make sure the color are following with T568B code scheme.

Next step, put the plug into the corresponding pressure seat of crimping tool.

Crimping with our technical tool, only one action can finish the crimping and cutting.

It's the end when finished two terminations of ethernet cable.

Then you can check whether the cable is running normally or not.

LINKOMM Network Cable Tester is the best choice of confirming the cable is normal or non-working.
